With the exception of jujitsu he found these were not very practical for self defense being sport related, by chance he came across ninjutsu and found it very practical and current for today's society as it is a combat system and not a sport, not unlike systema and krav maga although ninjutsu has more to offer than just physical combat but also spiritual guidance.
